Welcome to our NEW Women’s Cancer Support-G C website for 2023.
We are a Gold Coast wide service developed specifically to support women with cancer.
The Women’s Cancer Support – GC GROUP is both online and face to face support group with regular meetups and events. We have Local leaders and buddies in each Postcode or suburb from Beenleigh to Kingscliff and including Mt Tamborine & Beaudesert. We also have chat groups for women with ALL various types of cancer. (e.g. Brain, Lung, Colorectal, Metastatic etc). We will be continually developing the website to provide more information for our members.
How WCS-GC Started
Gold Coast started a Support group for women with Breast Cancer in 2019 after a members’ own diagnosis in 2017.

It was decided to open up the group to Women with ALL types of Cancers. Hence the group was formed and became the Women’s Cancer Support – GC
and “Rainbow Warriors”
Now with over 600 cancer warriors and/or survivors.

We have just introduced our new interactive calendar that provides all the details of our various events that you may interested in attending, they include – Pamper Days, Exercise classes, Coffee meet ups, Lunches, Other Activities, Webcasts and many more events that are relevant to our group, families and friends.

PAMPER DAYS
WCS-gc There are a few different pamper days we have become aware of, and these are posted on the live calendar with the link to register. They are also listed as an EVENT on our Facebook page.
ADVOCACY
WCS-gc We attend various conferences, summits, expos in relevant fields to learn and to have a voice. We do petitions, lobby and through my Consumer rep duties bring up issues needing to be fixed.
CARE PACKS
WCS-gc We were donated 1000 brown paper bags, so we do craft sessions where we decorate, paint, and make those bags look really nice. We have a packing session where a group help pack 25 or so at a time.
PORT / SEATBELT CUSHIONS
WCS-gc Members come together for a sewing social day to cut out, sew, & stuff them. Sometimes other charities sew some for us when we need them asap. Some members sew them at home.
PONCHOS
WCS-gc We deliver the poncho the day before member due for surgery at Robina or private hospital or the member picks up a poncho from one of the members near them.
WIGS & HEADWEAR
WCS-gc One of our lovelies holds the wigs and headwear and brings some to pamper days and events or meets up with lovelies to FIT the suitable wig and or headwear. She washes the wigs etc.
WCS have added a lot of documents to the “GUIDES” over the past 3 years – from members, various organisations and some links to websites. You will need to be a MEMBER of the “PRIVATE GROUP” to access this information due to the confidentiality of some items.
